About Sophia

Sophia Brimm is first generation Jamaican-American, raised in Atlanta, GA. She has a strong passion for connecting to the community and helping others. Within the last ten years, Sophia has committed thousands of hours towards service programs, global initiatives and mentorship.  Specializing in project management, informatics, and process improvement - Sophia has led end to end technology implementations for over three dozen health care facilities and hospitals across the country, as well as managed several big data products during her positions within industry leading companies such as Athenahealth and Allscripts. She has also leveraged her talent to implement and manage programing for the United Nations, Band of Coders, A3C Hip Hop Festival, Peace ATL, Cornerstone Marketing/ FADER Magazine, and the Young Professionals of Cobb Country. She is currently working as a senior consultant to Sentara Healthcare --  focused on improving the data and claims management for the Optima Health benefit plans that serves over 400K of Virginians' commercial and state benefits.

She holds a Bachelor's of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Biology, Statistics and African Diaspora Studies from Kennesaw State – and Masters in Health Informatics from Purdue University.
